MACHINERY SPACE

The machinery space is sound proofed to a very high standard, using state of the art materials to ensure that noise levels throughout the vessel are kept to a minimum. The engines are mounted on integrally moulded bearers with steel reinforcement for strength.

There are large baffled air intakes on each side providing sufficient air for efficient operation of the engines, whilst minimizing the ingress of moisture. In addition there are ventilation fans.

The engines are flexibly mounted to reduce vibration. There is good access to the engines for routine maintenance and daily checks. Access to the transmissions and stern glands is from the aft cabin.

The installation is carried out to a high standard and complies with relevant legislation. The fuel system with its twin fiberglass fuel tanks uses copper pipe and approved flexible fuel lines. Shut-off valves for the fuel system are located in a locker accessed from the starboard side deck. Large Racor fuel filters/water separators are provided with easy access for inspection and servicing.

The propeller shafts are of stainless steel (F51 Duplex 1.4462 material) with flexible couplings at the gearbox end. The stern glands are water lubricated and outboard there are substantial "P" brackets. Four bladed propellers provide a smooth and efficient transfer of power. The area is laid out to provide the maximum convenience for the owner.

BILGE PUMPS

There are two high capacity, automatic, electric bilge pumps with high level audible alarms at both stations. A manual bilge pump is located on the side deck for emergency use.

FIRE EXTINGUISHERS

There is an automatic fire extinguisher located in the engine room which also has a manual pull to release cable located in the salon. An automatic control system ensures that both engines, generator (if installed) and engine room blowers are automatically shut-down in the event of a fire. The galley is provided with a fire blanket. Three portable fire extinguishers are supplied with each Corvette to be installed in the owner's chosen locations in the aft cabin, salon, and forward cabin.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

The electrical system has been designed to a standard rarely found on boats of this size. The cables are all tinned copper with an insulation temperature rating of 105 degrees C (221 F). Cables are run in trunking and conduit where necessary.

The DC system consists of two individual 12v battery banks, one is dedicated to engine starting, and the other is dedicated to house loads. Both battery banks have a capacity of 220 A/H. The batteries are all Lifeline brand AGM type and require no maintenance. Charging is via an advanced split charge system which ensures that both battery banks receive a charge even if only one engine is running. The battery banks can be paralleled and/or crossed to allow emergency engine starting if required.

A 12v 50 amp automatic multi-stage battery charger is installed in the engine room, and is connected to both battery banks.

A large well laid out control panel is located adjacent to the main helm. AC & DC electrical panels with circuit breakers provide protection for all onboard circuits.

An AC Shorepower system with stainless steel inlet, isolation transformer, residual current circuit breaker and digital volts, amps, frequency and power meter is provided as standard.

WATER AND GAS SYSTEMS

Potable water is stored in a 130 USG (492 Liters) stainless steel tank and fed to all areas by an automatic pump. Hot water is stored in a 6 USG (22 Liters) tank and is heated by the starboard engine and/or by an electric heating element powered from the shorepower, or optional generator.

Storage for twin gas bottles is provided in a self-draining locker accessed via the starboard side deck.

A gas alarm and remote shut-off valves are standard equipment.

AFTERWORD

The question most manufacturers ask themselves when considering a new feature is whether it is necessary to include it in order to sell the boat. In the case of the Corvette, we ask only whether its inclusion will make the boat safer, better or more convenient.

For that reason Corvette Marine (HK) Ltd. reserves the right to make changes to specifications and equipment without notice.

There are several options available that will allow the owner to personalize his Corvette Yacht. For details and costs, please contact your Corvette Dealer.
